Latinamerica might not be the middle of the skateboard world but there’s still a strong and steadily growing scene that generates a lot of output. Today we present two print objects from Costa Rica: The Stand/by magazine and the Canasta zine by filmer Francisco Saco.

Stand/by

As already told, Stand/by Magazine originates in Puerto Rico, and we got issue #19 in our hands. Miguel Castro, one of the guys who run the mag, gave it to us at Vladimir Filmfestival. By the way, Miguel is the guy on the Caveman Nosegrind photo. In the mag you find an interview, a gallery and some tours. Especially the DC tour stands out, cause a pretty famous costa rican hubba gets destroyed with six tricks in this article. You can check this and all other issues on issuu.

Canasta

The second one is a zine made by Francisco Saco accompanying his new Video Canasta. Francisco lived in Berlin for a while and is now back in Costa Rica. His video had its premiere at Vladimir Filmfestival and shows, that there are tons of good spots in Costa Rica, even if they’re a bit crusty.
